TITANIC Brewery Wins Award at USA's Largest Competition!
October 10th, 1999

Denver, CO – During the U.S.A.’s largest beer competition, the Great American Beer Festival, over 1700 different beers are competing for a shot at the title. From the mega conglomerates that dominate Super Bowl half time ads to the little brewpubs around the corner, all come with dreams and aspirations of bringing home a medal. This year, a recently opened South Florida brewery will proudly display one of the coveted medals awarded this year. Titanic Brewery & Restaurant, located at 5813 Ponce de Leon Blvd. entered their Captain Smith’s Rye Ale in the “Specialty” category. Brewmaster Jamie Ray has been receiving rave reviews on his Rye Ale since the April 1st opening. That and his profound knowledge of brewing science gave him the confidence to compete with the Goliaths of the beer industry. “I knew we had an excellent product, but this is more than I ever imagined” said Kevin Rusk, owner of TITANIC Brewing Company. “Jamie is truly a great brewer and he really deserves all the credit. He is so conscientious about all the intricate details, I knew he deserved a medal, I just never thought he would get one a mere six months after our doors opened.” The 18th annual Great American Beer Festival was held in Denver CO. from October 8th to the 10th . The three day nationwide competition draws over 400 breweries and attracts 35,000 visitors from all over the world.
